Vol 1: The It Girl Guide to Summer 2025 Style

I interview it girls for a living and these are all the trends and styles the it girls are shopping for Summer 2025, you MUST get yourself a pair of capris ASAP!

This Summer is going to be an absolute blast when it comes to style. The it girls are wearing color (especially mint green & butter yellow), heavy patterns (hi leopard print, stripes, paisley, we see you!) and an endless amount of sequins. Quiet luxury has finally left the building and we are going to have a little fun.

Loud Prints

The first set of trends we must address is the return of loud prints. We saw so many neutrals in NYC for the fall, I truly wondered if wild prints and pastels would make their return for spring/summer. I am so happy to report that leopard, zebra, gingham, paisley and Pucci (that is its own print at this point, right?) are everywhere!! We are back. This summer is going to be all about getting a great tan and throwing on tons of loud outfits. Accessories

I know, I know, nautical for summer…groundbreaking. The nautical resurgence has shown us it girls in stripes, boat shoes, anchor motifs and more 2010 vibes than I ever thought I’d see in 2025. However, the overtly nautical accessory vibe is very much here and very much undeniable. Chanel showed us shells and crabs on charm bracelets and now…here we are. If you had told me I’d see New Yorkers wearing statement necklaces in the same vein as J. Crew 10-15 years ago, I never would have believed you. If the ubiquitous nature of this trend is an indication of what’s to come, this summer we are all grabbing our boat totes, shell necklaces, sun hats and hitting the water in as much butter yellow as possible!

I also had to throw in some jelly shoes because, sue me, they’re comfy and cute! I also added a great head scarf because the nautical girl and the cottage core girl are surely shopping the same pages.

Boho Chic

This is BY FAR my favorite trend of the last few years. I have always loved a Chloe girl.. Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Jane Birkin - that ultimate Boho, make anything look perfect, girl. I love the idea of throwing on flowy pieces and enjoying the sunshine. Don’t forget to find a good suede jacket or a sweater for cold nights and travel but this is a trend you simply can not miss. This is one I have been waiting for forever and I will be dressing like a New York it girl and Daisy Jones had a lovechild for the foreseeable future!

Sequins

I mentioned fun did I not?! What is more fun than sequins? I know they are not always necessarily the most chic but the fact is… fun it girls are wearing sequins, they always have. Nobody wears a sequin party dress like the ultimate it girl herself, Paris Hilton. Sequins are a great time, they elevate a look and there are so many ways you can wear them. Do not hold back!! Head to toe sequins and over the top fabulosity and confidence is the it girl trend of the summer. Go big or go home.

Capris

Okay.. this is a trend I would be remise to address as it is quite a polarizing one… capris. I personally love the 60’s vibe of a cute summer capri with a touch of gingham thrown in but many of the girls I’ve interviewed have stated they simply are not for them. This is one of those trends that you either love or hate and the it girls are no exception. Some stating their disdain and others buying multiple pair to get ready for the summer. Whether you’re a capri lover (like me) or not, there is no denying this trend is going to be on tons of cool girls.
